The nominee’s for the third annual BET Hip Hop Awards were announced.

Lil Wayne leaded the list of nominee’s with 12 nominations including Best Hip Hop Video, Best Live Performer, and Lyricist of the Year.

Lil Wayne is followed by Kanye West with seven nominations and Jay-Z with six.

Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons will be receiving the “I Am Hip Hop” Icon Award, an award given to an individual who has contributed exceptionally to the Hip Hop community.

The nominee’s for the coveted Best Hip Hop Video award include David Banner, Common, DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, and Kanye West.

Lyricist of the Year nominee’s include Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Nas, T.I., and Kanye West.

Other BET Hip Hop Awards nominee’s include Busta Rhymes, Flo Rida, Dizzee Rascal, Hype Williams, DJ Greg Street, and more.

Hosted by comedian Katt Williams, the third annual BET Hip Hop Awards will take place in Atlanta on October 18 and will air on BET October 23 at 8 p.m.

Mann Bun B should be nominated for vest hip hop video for “You’re Everything” cuz that vid is dope as fuck, same with lyricist of the year his lyrics are way better than fuck ass weezy.

2 Trill was one of the best albums of the this year. the same can be said for the Underground Kingz album of 07. main stream never seemed to care about UGK until Big Pimpin w/ Jay Z. it seems that after Kanye gave the best video award to UGK in 07, BET turned around a gave them same award the following year. UGK, like Ball & G, may never receive mainstream approval, but they are legends. damn an award and main stream approval.
