Hold your horses guys, this rumor is crazy. MediaTakeOut.com spoke with a prominent New York City politician who claims that Jay Z is contemplating running for mayor of New York City next year.

According to he politician, who asked to remain anonymous, Jay Z is “serious” about politics and is “strongly looking into” a 2009 Mayoral run.

The pol told MediaTakeOut.com, “[Jay Z] has discussed [running for mayor] with me and with others. I believe he’s serious about it.”
