Life as an up and coming artist is not as easy as some may think. It involves hard work, time in the studio, having your music being played at clubs and radio stations, doing music videos, building up your name in your city, performing at club events and the list goes on. If you were looking for an “Up and Coming Artist Book for Dummies,” unfortunately, it was never made. This is something you will have to learn on your own or get some advice from fellow artists, DJ’s, A&R’s or a CEO in the game. Many artists will give it their all to make it and some will walk away and get a job. Delray’s own Hot is an up and coming artist that will give it his all to see his dream of being a big name artist in today industry.
KeepItTrill.com: Today I bring you a new up and coming artist a Delray, Florida native known as Hot. I would like to welcome you to KeepItTrill.com and would like to say thank you for taking time out your busy schedule to seat down for this interview with us. Ok so let’s get started introduce yourself for the people that don’t already know who you are.
Hot: What it is whodi I’m that ni*** Hot Also known as 1 Hot from Palm Beach County.
KeepItTrill.com: As a new artist coming from Florida, which has legendary artists such as Trick Daddy, Uncle Luke, JT Money and others, can you tell the people who you listened to growing up? Who influenced you as an artist?
Hot: I came up listening to master p, trick daddy, 2pac, and just real people like dat.
KeepItTrill.com: What do you feel you’re bringing to the table and what separates you from the next new artist that coming out?
Hot: I feel like I’m a just bring some more real sh** back to the game. Just a variety of different hot street songs and also have songs for the ladies to.
KeepItTrill.com: What’s up the meaning of your name?
Hot: People use to call my ol’boy hot rod so I was always little hot but when it come to this rap business I’m just like a mixture of a lot of hot rappers in one which made “1 hot” person ya feel me.
KeepItTrill.com: Lets talk about FYE and your music. What projects have you been working on? Can you clarify your current label situation for the folks at KeepItTrill.com?
Hot: Man I’m already 4 solo mixtapes in the hole but I’m currently working on my mixtape/album “Da Most Unda Rated”, and pushing a couple of singles. But as far as labels I’m not signed or managed by no one I been doing my own thing.
KeepItTrill.com: You have a couple of strong singles out right now, the “Time to Stunt” and the “I’m On It” joints are hot and are getting some spins on a lot of the underground stations and clubs. So what’s next for Hot?
Hot: just trying to get me a real major buzz and lock the streets. Hopefully get the attention of some big labels and make it happen.
