The E! Network released a feature this week about hip hop artists and their wives.
Wives of DMX, Paul Wall and Big Pun all participated in the show, but Big Pun’s wife told a more concerning story than the others. She described stories of alleged abuse from Pun, including the rapper breaking a glass on her face, punching her in the eye, and verbal abuse as well.
One of the instances of abuse was actually caught on tape after Pun outfitted their home with security cameras. On the tape, you can see Pun pistol whip his wife in the face, causing her to run up the stairs to protect her self. Here’s a bit of what Pun’s wife had to say on the show:
“The day that [Big Pun] died it was the best and the worst day of my life, the worst day because I lost a part of me. I lost my husband. I lost my friend. I lost my kids’ father. I lost everything, but then it was a best day of my life because all the abuse, all the pain, all the crying, it was over. That was it. It was done.”
After Pun died, he left his estate to Fat Joe, leaving his wife and kids with nothing, not even royalties from his previous work. Right now, she is in a legal battle about compensation and is studying to get her cosmotology degree.

Big pun was a good rapper, I don’t believe in volatile relationships at all, he was very abusive to his wife, she should have left him, but most women in abusive relationships don’t leave because they are scared to. Putting that to the side how do you not leave your wife and kids nothing, really!! That’s bull, she put up with all that abuse, their kids seen all that abuse and then to be left nothing and give it all to someone who isn’t your family, WOW that is the most F***Ed up s*** I have ever heard! I feel sorry for his wife and kids who have been staying in shelters because they have nothing, not even the person who got the money would help! What is wrong with people these days, at the end of the day it is about family, blood is thicker than water!
I hope that the family will eventually get what should have been theirs to began with, I hope that god blesses them and they can be a happy family for once in their life!

Big Pun was a joke, we put him on our track (off the books) and the guy never showed us the respect we earned. He let the fame go to his head. And he wasnt even considered one of the top 20 in NY. The dude has a nice flow but he was average.

Legend or not, it is what it is… Just because he was a talented dude, doesn’t give him the right to shit on his wife like that… If you want to idolize someone like that, that’s fine, but no need to hate on someone who is sensible – and that’s trill.
