Keep It Trill is an urban based website that specializes in news media within the hip-hop industry. The website was founded in April of 2008 by Trill Promotions Group LLC owners Chris M. a.k.a. “Trill Chris” and Adi B. Keep It Trill came from the inspiration given to Chris by the late Chad “Pimp C” Butler and realized through the web and graphic designing skills of Adi.
Keep It Trill gained its first rise to fame in July of 2008 by leaking the notorious photo of William Roberts (a.k.a. Rick Ross) in his correctional officer uniform. This photo practically gave the new website its launch by bringing in over 45,000 visitors within a period of two days. The release of the photo lead to the investigation of Ross by William Bastone, founder of TSG(TheSmokingGun). TSG eventually dug up Ross’ employment history with the Florida Department of Corrections, which verified the accuracy of the previous photo.
In subsequent months, KeepItTrill began to be noticed by major hip-hop media outlets such as XXL Magazine, HipHopDx and SOHH.com. The loyalty of its fans lead Keep It Trill to two nominations for the Online Hip Hop Awards sponsored by SOHH, in which the site came away with a win in the “Blogger of the Year” category.
Since the hip-hop awards, KeepItTrill has joined the MOG Music Network and teamed up with SOHH for the launch of its syndicated network. As of February 2009, KeepItTrill receives over 10,000 page loads per day from over 3,000 unique visitors. KeepItTrill consistently continues to grow and build relationships with artists, labels and media outlets from within the industry.

The KeepItTrill website is registered in the U.S. State of Georgia, with its parent company (Trill Promotions Group LLC) registered out of Orlando, Fl. KeepItTrill and Trill Promotions have strong ties with the state of Texas, as one of its founding members grew up there.
The alternation of two musical tones is the definition you would find if you were to look up the word trill in the dictionary. Many people outside of the hip-hop world probably never heard of the word. For those of us who know their southern hip-hop history, the legendary hip-hop group UGK, also known as the Underground Kingz, created the word trill. To these people, trill means something far different than a musical tone. It is often a word that people live by, and it encompasses many different aspects in your way of life.
Trill is the combination of the words true and real. To be trill, it means that you stay true not only with yourself, but also with the people around you. You are honest, and you are not afraid to tell someone the truth, no matter how much it hurts. It is the highest form of being true, as some people like to call “keeping it real.” You can only get there by being true day in and day out. If you stray away from this, people will consider you to be “fake” or fraudulent.
Trill also brings a sense of unity. You will not turn your back on those who help you and those who are your friends. You make yourself available to those who need you, and you try to make everyone associated with you thrive with you in your success. If someone refers to you as being a “trill person,” it is a sign of respect. They realize that you are true to your word and that they can put all of their trust into you. They can depend on you for whatever they ask of you, and they know that you will not let them down.
Trill can also be associated with being “laid back” and “chill.” You are an easygoing person, but if someone treats you the wrong way, they will regret it. You do not care what people think of you, and the influence of others will not affect you. You know how to be yourself, and you have your own type of “swagger.” The aura that surrounds you makes people want to know more about you, and become affiliated with you.
The term trill has become a part of our every day life after meeting UGK member Chad “Pimp C” Butler, as he inspired us to start our own business: Trill Promotions. In the business aspect, trill not only means to stay true, but it is also a state of mind. You are on a level above everyone else, and by association, everyone around you has to come to your level. It means that you are among the best in everything that you do, and you stay focused on making money. You are very resourceful, know what it takes to succeed, and you will do anything to achieve that success.
