A week and a day has passed since the 2nd annual Trae Day and we have finally put our pictures up from the event.

The celebration, which took place on the campus of Texas Southern University, was aimed at giving back to the community that helped Trae gain his popularity in the Houston rap scene. Moonwalks, train & pony rides and free school supplies were given to the children who showed up for the event, while the adults enjoyed free HIV/Aids testing and help with voter registration.

The folks over at Texan Wire Wheels came out strong, as did hundreds of their previous customers. The entire campus of TSU and its’ surrounding neighborhoods were filled with candy painted cars sitting on swangers – half of which seemed to be equipped with super pokers (sorry – no pictures of the super pokers!). After experiencing this first hand, I can honestly say that no other city has as UNIQUE of a car culture as the homies out in H-town.

The crowd started off relatively slow as compared to last year, but by the time the concert kicked off around 7, thousands seemed to have appeared out of no where. Rappers like Bun B, Rick Ross, Shawty Lo & Rich Boy were among the several entertainers who showed up to pay homage to. One the concert started we made the mistake of going on the overly crowded stage to take pictures, which ended up hurting us instead of helping us.. Luckily, we ran into our new friend Kalele Thumbutu who was kind enough to donate some of his pictures to us of the performances.
