A new Michael Jackson single called “This Is It” will be released on October 12.

The song features background vocals by The Jacksons and it’ll be the first single from a two-disc soundtrack to the performance documentary based on rehearsals for Michael’s ill-fated “This Is It” tour. The album will drop on October 27, one day before the movie hits theaters.

Disc one of the soundtrack will include original versions of Michael’s classic hits in the order that they are performed in the movie. The final track on disc one will be the new single, “This Is It.” The second disc features previously-unreleased versions of Michael’s hits and also a spoken word poem by Michael called “Planet Earth.” The double-CD will also come with a 36-page booklet featuring photos from Michael’s “This Is It” rehearsals.
