2pistolsInterview By: ESTAXX

2 Pistols is the newest member on the Cash Money Records roster. He reigns from the Tarpon Springs, Florida area and is putting on for his city. His buzz began to grow with the release of his smash-hit single “She Got It” last year. The track quickly flooded the nations urban areas and the radio stations throughout the United States, which also dug up issues from several artists claiming that he took the song. No legitimate proof was ever brought forward and 2 Pistols kept it moving with the follow-up-single “You Know Me,” which featured Ray J. He recently sat down with us for a quick inside look of what he has going on.

KeepItTrill.com: Today I bring to you the BMU and Cash Money newest member own 2 Pistols to KeepItTrill.com. Let’s start this interview off by introducing yourself to the people that don’t already know who you are.

2 Pistols: What’s good I go by the name 2 pistols aka 2p, Mr. Murk city, Mr. She Got It… Blood Money/ Cash Money / Young Money reppin’ 2 gun toten [laughing]. Naw man, it’s just 2 pistols or 2p “Death Before Dishonor,” album in stores right now… well rounded album check it out for a real better vibe of me, not just she got it.

KeepItTrill.com: How did you come up with your name 2 Pistols?

2 Pistols: I’m a Gemini got 2 sides to me being in the streets getting to the money people started just saying 2 pistols instead of calling me 2 people.

KeepItTrill.com: What does 2 Pistols brings to the music world? And what separates 2 Pistols from the next up and coming artist?

2 Pistols: My grind dog.  I hustle, grind, work harder than these n*ggaz man, f*ck a verse. Ask anybody it was never with rhymes with me. I’m just trying to get to the money. M.O.E thats why I feel Slim and Baby f*cked with me. It wasn’t a record it’s a n*gga hustle. I really did that sh*t these n*ggas be rappin’ but I never talk to heavy on it cause a n*gga that talk that sh*t to much ain’t really live that shit. They trying too hard to be 100 and the truth gone show sooner or later…. But what I bring to the game is I go my own way b*tch. I’m “arrogant” than a muf*cker. N*gga out hustle me. I go hard and I stunt on n*gga that’s pocket watching

KeepItTrill.com: Some people might not know that you wrote a song called “Dirty Foot” while in high school, which you thought wasn’t a big thing… Then your brother encourages you to record it. Were you surprised to hear it was playing in clubs?

2 Pistols: Yeah, me and a homie of mine Joe Boy did that sh*t back in the day he f*cked up right now in fed, but sh*t that record had a nice little vibe to it. Still do today…. Joe Boy hold ya head n*gga!

KeepItTrill.com: There is a new trend in Hip-Hop going around lately where artists are getting exposed and “getting their card pulled.” Miami’s own Rick Ross was exposed for being a Corrections Officer and former Grand Hustle artist Alfamega as being a DEA Informant. How do you feel about Hip-Hop’s latest turn? Why are artist lying about their past and not keeping it trill with their fans?

2 Pistols: I don’t know man… Sh*t you know when I was young, lames use to do whatever to fit in so they don’t get ran thru. Pull my sh*t tho. I’m 100. Google the gov. Sh*t, nothing flaw bout me!

KeepItTrill.com: Growing up in the 80’s, what artists were you listening to growing up? Who influenced you as an artist?

2 Pistols: LL Cool J. Yeah L  love 2 pistols these days. I mean I listen to everything tho Pac, Biggie, Mac well Bennie seg… CMR all day to keep it trill.

KeepItTrill.com: As an artist do you utilize YouTube, MySpace and Twitter to promote your music?

2 Pistols: Yeah. Got to. That’s what a lot of these new niggaz don’t understand. I internet hustle if I can’t be there in person. Online gon’ touch that spot 4 me ya dig

KeepItTrill.com: A few months back you signed with Cash Money Records. Can you share with the world how did that come about?

2 Pistols: I was working a new record called “Lights Low” and  Cool and Dre did the beat. I was feeling like I needed to prove myself without a J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League beat, so I holla at the homies and made it happen with them. I also had just been released from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and Slim got wind of it from a good radio dude name Issy and Issy put us in contact. I send over a few records to Stunna and Slim, we met a few times and vibed out. They felt my street sh*t is harder than my radio sh*t, but people haven’t taken a second to check for me… and if they do, imma be that n*gga, so they said they got me on that let’s make it happen. I’m a super-star rapper, not just a rapper. Lets wake these n*ggaz up so the grind starts now. I’m banging out mixtapes to set up that street buzz I need.

KeepItTrill.com: So what projects have you been working on?

2 Pistols: A lot of mixtape work bout to drop.. like 3 a month. Get real heavy in the streets, also my new album Arrogant.

KeepItTrill.com: I heard your few of your latest songs “Come On”, “Haters Nut Crossed”, “Pocket Watchin” and “Hot Damn”. I’m really feeling those songs. How did those songs came about?

2 Pistols: I’m on my new sh*t, just going in the booth and doing records about whatever the beat say to me. F*ck all that other sh*t. You need a record like this or that.. what the beat says, to me I say on it….

KeepItTrill.com: When your debut album Death Before Dishonor came out, I went to get a copy and ever since then I’ve been a fan of your music. Now it’s been a year. Can you tell your fans out there when they can expect your sophomore album Arrogant to hit stores and online?

2 Pistols: We’re looking at March 2010. I just want to make sure the streets are ready this time. I need that urban base. I crossed over very fast with “She Got It”….

KeepItTrill.com: What can you tell me about the upcoming album Arrogant?

2 Pistols: The real 2 pistols. No watered down sh*t. If you vibe to the record called “from the bottom” on my first lp then this album is going to touch you, but you know, I got them features for free. The best rap label in the game hands down… radio records on deck to.

KeepItTrill.com: How would the fans get in contact with you, if they wanted to listen to new music or even book you?

2 Pistols: myspace.com/2pistols… 2-pistols.com ….. Twitter.com/2pistols. Follow me. Trust me. I got yall, but my MySpace has all the music first. For booking, get at mp3erik@gmail.com or 727 235 3532 Cindy Nu Noise Ent…

KeepItTrill.com: I would like to thank you for providing KeepItTrill.com with this exclusive interview; do you have any last words for your present and future fans?

2 Pistols: God bless and thank yall for the love. F*ck a hater, imma keep doing this sh*t for yall. Pat hold ya head. If it’s God’s will, imma get tha time off ya heard. Big bro Razor, I love u n*gga hold ya head. When you touchdown we going to the dealership! But real talk feds leave my f*ckin family alone. All my blood in that hold ya head. The list is too long…. Butter man… Eddie, Curt. 100. Arrogant March 2010.
