Gucci Mane to Face Off Against Jeezy & T.I. This September, CTE vs Brick Squad Beef Continues

Written by Trill Chris:

Atlanta rap-phenomenon Gucci Mane has announced a September release date for his upcoming album The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted.

September 28th will mark the official release date of Gucci Mane’s third studio album, but he will have to face releases from two rap heavy weights on the same day. Young Jeeyz’s Thug Motivation 103 and T.I.’s King Uncaged are both currently slated for release on the same day as Gucci’s Appeal, which is sure to give the rapper stiff competition.

T.I.’s album is arguably the most anticipated release of the three albums, marking the Atlanta rapper’s first album since being released from prison earlier this year. His last five albums have hit the platinum mark, with King and his most recent release, Paper Trail, going two times platinum. It is safe to say that T.I. will make another big mark on the charts with his next debut.

All three of these rappers reign from Atlanta, but what makes the album sales showdown more interesting is the storied beef between Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane. While Jeezy is obviously the most successful and commercially dominant rapper, Gucci’s newfound buzz isn’t to be ignored. Gucci Mane is only second to Lil Wayne in dominance on the underground circuit, flooding the streets with countless songs and mixtapes. Gucci Mane protégé Waka Flocka Flame has also been making a name for himself in Atlanta and throughout the South, which has also attributed to Gucci’s growing buzz. Gucci Mane’s last studio album, The State vs Radric Davis, was released last December – selling 89,000 copies in it’s first week. While the numbers aren’t impressive, it marks Gucci’s most successful album release to date, with a current sales total around 400,000 albums sold.

While the beef has supposedly been squashed by Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane several months ago, reports of CTE and Brick Squad crews clashing in the streets still make headlines on the hip-hop websites. Waka Flocka released a diss-freestyle toward CTE affiliates Slick Pulla and Bloodraw as recently as yesterday (watch video below).

Will this album sales showdown re-ignite some sort of feud between the rappers? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
