Waka Flocka’s ‘No Hands’ Certified Gold

Atlanta’s Waka Flocka Flame certainly made 2010 count, from the BET Awards to the Billboard Charts, his popularity in the Hip-Hop scene continues to spread like wildfire.
Previously, Waka released his mixtape “Salute Me or Shoot Me, Vol. 1,” in January of 2009, and shortly after, his song “O Let’s Do It,” became a favorite among listeners, paving the way for his following features, from Gucci Mane’s 2009 track “Bingo,” off “The State vs. Radric Davis” LP,” to the official “O Let’s Do It” remix featuring Diddy, Rick Ross, and Gucci Mane. Furthermore, Waka once again stormed speakers with “Hard in Da Paint,” which currently reigns at #1 on Billboard’s Rap Songs chart, #22 on the Hot 100, and #2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Proceeding his success, MTV News’ Hip-Hop Brain Trust voted Waka 2010’s #8 Hottest MC in the Game. To which he responded “Oh, sh–, I made it! Hell yeah, I was [surprised]. Come on, man, I never thought I’d be on something like that. Not yet. It’s so soon.”
More recently, Waka’s “No Hands,” featuring Roscoe Dash and Wale, has been certified gold by the RIAA after selling 500,000 copies. At the Power 106 Cali Christmas concert in Los Angeles, MTV News caught up with Waka once again to allow him to broadcast his feelings on the hit.
“That feel good, the first song going gold is big for me,” “It means that I’m growing as an artist, so I need to take effect to that.”
