KeepItTrill.com: For those who aren’t familiar with you, let our readers know who you are and where you from.
B.A.M.A.: Fa da ppl who don’t kno me, ima nigga who from da streets dat has talent like no other & was raised in Atlanta from Elementary on up.
KeepItTrill.com: You were born in a small Mississippi city called “Poplarville” and moved to Atlanta around the age of 4. When you moved to Atlanta, you were in foster homes along with your two brothers & two sisters, whom the government separated you from because your mother had to spend time in jail. Do you think with the childhood you had growing up made you the person you is today?
B.A.M.A.: Da childhood I had DEFINITELY influenced da person I am today…being away from friends & family at long periods of time & with complete strangers changes yo whole outlook on life!
KeepItTrill.com: What made you want to become a rapper? Was it a childhood dream?
B.A.M.A.: I was into sports real heavy to help keep my mind off da shit dat was goin on in my life, til I found out dat I could take da events & put em over instruments & it be fun too. I guess u can say I treat music like it’s a sport & I try 2 be da best at it. I can’t say dat it was a childhood DREAM, but it was definitely “my calling.”
KeepItTrill.com: For those who don’t know what B.A.M.A. stands for can you explain to them?
B.A.M.A.: Simply put: B.eat A. M.uhfucka A.ss!
KeepItTrill.com: On this site we keep it trill with our viewers…. Recently you have released a video called “Make A Way” featuring Ray Ray Johnson which you spoke about leaving Young Jeezy’s Corporate Thugz Entertainment. You’re not the only artist that left the label. Roccett and Blood Raw are no longer with the label either. Can you explain what happened over at CTE that made you decide it was time to leave the label?
B.A.M.A.: It was time to leave when I realized I been fuckin wit Jeezy since I was bout 17 or 18 & signed to ‘em for a year & I ain’t have him on a song, ain’t open up for ‘em on a show, ain’t have a single on da radio, ain’t have a shout out from ‘em, ain’t have a drop for a mixtape, NUTN! He did give me $5000 when I 1st signed with him dat “I” had to drag up out of ‘em cuz they initially didn’t give me SHIT! He got me an apartment & was payin for bout 8 months then stopped, but dat was greatly appreciated…preciate it Jeezy! I came from strait from da block & Jeezy knew dat…no money, no car, unstable livin conditions & all dat! He made it seem like he was gone change a nigga life & I already BEEN fuckin wit ‘em so I had a sense of loyalty to ‘em too so I signed with him. It wasn’t necessarily an all round bad decision, but if I woulda known what I know now, I prolly wouldn’t have went & im pretty sure Roccett & Blood Raw and MANY other artist on his label would agree.
KeepItTrill.com: In the “Make A Way” featuring Ray Ray Johnson record you stated “How we center everything around loyalty f*** being loyal to someone who ain’t loyal to me” Are you taking shots at Young Jeezy in the line?
B.A.M.A.: I’m not takin shots at Jeezy, I’m just statin facts & speakin my life over instrumentals like I been doin, what’s wrong with dat? He & I both know what da bidness is & woulda died 4 any nigga ova there if I woulda been taken care of cuz I looked at all dem niggaz like bruthaz…dat wasn’t that case doe.
KeepItTrill.com: What was the process you had to go through to leave the label? Former CTE artist Roccett told blog sites that he went and got all his material and left with it.
B.A.M.A.: I made a few calls & got da word round to Jeezy dat a nigga wuz gone dip since I ain’t have his cell number & ain’t had it since like ’05. I only signed 1 year ova there with him anyway so it wasn’t that difficult.
KeepItTrill.com: Now let’s get onto the music….. You dropped your latest mixtape “Hello World (Above Da Illuminati)” a while ago. What feedback have you been getting on that project?
B.A.M.A.: People fuckin wit da mixtape HARD & my music PERIOD! I performed in this New Skool Rules showcase judged by Wendy Day, Drumma Boy, Brian Michael Cox, and bout 20 others a few months ago & won a spot to go overseas to Holland, so I kno im doin sumn right. I was chosen out of 500 other artists from 5 different countries round da world!!!
KeepItTrill.com: So you are the CEO of C-ing Money Entertainment tell us a little bit about what’s going on over there?
