Forbes Releases Annual ‘Most Toxic Cities’ List

Forbes Magazine has released their annual list of America’s most toxic cities and four California cities top the list.

Forbes compiled their list by taking the 80 largest metropolitan areas in the country and measuring different levels of pollutants found in the air and water, as well as hazardous waste & superfund sites located in the city. Cities like Los Angeles and Houston have improved on their air quality over previous years, while the water quality in Philadelphia shot them to the top of the list. Some surprise cities to make the list include Baton Rouge, L.A. and Salt Lake City, UT.

1. Philadelphia, Pa.
