During an interview with Paris Hilton for Interview magazine, Lil Wayne shared his decision to take a brief hiatus from Twitter, due to multiple hacker attacks on his account.
“I just shut my Twitter account down because it got hacked,” Wayne said. “Once it got hacked, I had Twitter fix it. They changed it. And then it got hacked again, so I just shut it down. As of right now, I’m on Twitter strike.”
Previously, during January, Lil Wayne’s Twitter account (@LilTuneChi) hacked, providing his followers with updates that were in actuality, not coming from the Cash Money star himself. Granted access to Wayne’s account, the hacker changed the username from “@LilTuneChi” to “@LilChinetu,” and began tweeting insults towards Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy, and making vulgar jokes about Wayne’s prison sentence served during 2010.
“I sent a donations to your paypal, check it, I heard you got 13,000 sales lil homie, i feel bad for you! #D*mnSoulja,” the hacker typed, following with: “The real reason I made 6’7 is cuz that’s how tall the n****in rikers was that raped me.
Later, the hacker tweeted: “I went an entire year without kissing baby #withdrawls.”
At press time, Wayne’s Twitter account remained active, though he has refrained from updating his timeline since Saturday, March 26th.
