Breaking: Trill Ent. Rapper Lil Phat Shot and Killed
Following a shooting which occurred early Saturday morning, April 16th, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a member of a rapper’s entourage has been arrested.
Police report that a man named Travis Demond Carroll, age 23, was charged with attempted murder and second degree assault. Captain Loyd Baker informed the Tuscaloosa News that a man approached the (not yet confirmed) rapper as her was leaving a local club, The Black Orchid, causing Carroll to fire at him several times with a 9mm pistol. The man remains critically injured, while an innocent female bystander standing nearby the shooter was shot in the back. The woman has been treated for minor injuries and was recently released from DCH Regional Medical Center.
Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide representative Susan Penrod refused to identify the specific name of the rapper, citing an ongoing investigation. However, flyers circulated for the event state that Trill Entertainment rapper Lil Phat was the headlining artist for the evening.
Sources debate that the man shot allegedly attempted to rob Lil Phat, resulting in the violent shooting. The event occurred after the “A-Day” Football game over the weekend in Tuscaloosa, which attracted a crowd well over 93,000 people.
Travis Demond Carroll is being held on $75,000 bail.
