Ludacris Starts Restaurant Beef With Jay-Z?
According to AllHipHop.com, Jay-Z is incredibly peeved with fellow rapper Ludacris over a prime piece of the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport real estate.
HipHopBlog.com reported that Jay-Z’s bid to add a 40/40 Club to the airport passenger section has been denied.
“Atlanta’s city council decided against the venture and voted it down after 9 hours of debate,” wrote the website.
So it looks like while Jigga got denied, Ludacris is enjoying the same spot that Jay-Z was scoping out.
“Word is, both Jay-Z and Ludacris were BOTH gunning for a prime piece of real estate inside Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, but the airport only had room for one new venture – and Ludacris won!” reported AllHipHop.com. “Luda allegedly pulled some strings and got Mayor Kasim Reed of Atlanta to speak to the Atlanta City Council on his behalf. And poof, vamoose to Jay as Luda was granted the license to open his restaurant.”
HipHopBlog.com also mentioned: “It has been suggested that prospects for Jay’s Atlanta 40/40 Club were already dim; as it was not recommended by the office of Mayor Kasim Reed. This, despite the fact that Jay-Z spent significant time with Reid as he lobbied for the contract.”
Despite Jay-Z announcing his club idea early in 2011, Luda’s got his restaurant, Chicken & Beer already in the works.
“Chicken & Beer: It’s the meal that inspired an album that inspired a place where you can eat chicken and beer,” joked the Vancouver Sun.
