Iggy Azalea Addresses Sexual Image, Drops New T.I.-Assisted Single
In a recent interview with Complex, the Australian-bred spitter discussed the topic, specifically the pressures of being a female emcee and the sexy image associated with her brand. While she admits her sexy outfits and/or image can be an issue within the U.S., it’s not such a big deal in her native Australia.
However, as she continues to make a name for herself within the U.S. music industry, it definitely has it’s pros and cons. Pros being that her image can sometimes overshadow her music.
“So much of what I do that’s controversial in America wouldn’t be a big deal back home,” Iggys tells Complex. “America is a highly sexualized society but people are afraid to admit what they like,” she explained. “When people tell me that I have to be sexy that’s demeaning, not powerful.
“To a lot of people, a powerful, sexy woman is vulgar. When I first came out people said, ‘She only raps about her vagina.’ I’m not a vagina rapper! (Laughs). I talk about many other things,” she continued.

Whatever hurdles Iggy’s faced thus far, it’s working for her. Although she’s been recording music since the Mypace Era, over the past year, things have really taken off for her, all from videos she released on Youtube.com. Since then, she’s landed a record deal, and just last month was named one of XXL’s highly-touted 2012 Freshman Class.
Her buzz has become so big, T.I. snatched her up to join his Grand Hustle imprint, via a partnership with Interscope Records.
Iggy dropped a new single on Monday (March 26), titled Murda Bizness” featuring T.I. (listen below). It’s the first off her upcoming debut album, The New Classic, slated for release this summer.
