Ron Paul Is The Most Important Person In The Presidential Election?

13 April 2012 177 views 4 Comments

Ron Paul has already had a greater impact on America than any U.S. President in generations…

Nothing has changed since Obama replaced George W. Bush. Nothing would change if Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum replaced Obama, either.

Americans elected Obama in 2008 to not be George W. Bush. Bush was reviled by voters for what they believed was an unnecessary war in Iraq, for spying on American citizens, for being too cozy with Wall Street, and for assuming executive powers not delegated to him by the Congress. Obama promised to change all of that.

Four years later, Obama has started at least three new wars while expanding the boondoggle in Afghanistan. He has continued spying on Americans and sought to expand this authority in the courts. He has filled his cabinet with Wall Street insiders and has bested George W. Bush on expanding executive powers.

Obama actually claims the right to arrest, to indefinitely detain and even to assassinate American citizens that he deems dangerous – all without due process.

Romney and Santorum both support all of this. Gingrich thinks it’s not enough…

Then there is Ron Paul… He doesn’t just talk about cutting spending. He published his first year budget, cutting $1 trillion dollars. He doesn’t just talk about individual liberty. He wants to end the failed drug war and repeal the Patriot Act. He promises to bring troops home from all over the world and allow young people to opt out of unsustainable entitlement programs. Ron Paul proposes real solutions to real problems, regardless of the political consequences.

Ron Paul is the first presidential candidate in my lifetime to actually use the words “role of government” as if the subject should be debated…

Presidents have come and gone for decades while the federal government has continued to trample our liberties, loot our wealth, and propagate new enemies around the world, regardless of which party has been in power…

To those who understand what is happening, the presidential election seems almost irrelevant as Paul’s audiences explode into the thousands. Long after history has deemed Bush, Obama and this year’s winner indistinguishable postage stamps on the road to disaster, it will remember the man who planted new seeds during the election of 2012.

  1. I guess the repeal of DADT, the passage of a healthcare scheme that moves the U.S. in the right direction towards universal healthcare, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and signing a Presidential Memorandum extending benefits to same-sex partners of federal employees mean nothing to you. I get it, it’s hard to parse the differences between candidates. That requires an ounce of research other than going to Prison Planet. I am also aware that this is a music site, and not an intellectual salon, but this is a poorly written article. I am not under the impression that Obama is perfect or ever was, and god only knows he has continued the deterioration of certain rights in the U.S., but to claim, with a straight face, that Obama is no different from Bush is a damn lie.
Ron Paul is a libertarian who would slash Federal programs targeting the poor. I know this because he has said as much, because he truly believes that the free market will take care of people. What he bases this on, no one knows for sure, because U.S. history has demonstrated that this has never been the case. But if you are willing to ignore the pleas of the needy, then by all means support Ron Paul.

First off, let me say that the views of this post are those of Trill Chris and NOT those of this site. Secondly, nobody is saying Paul is perfect, but the issues you speak of are INSIGNIFICANT in comparison if we don’t change our economic and foreign policy! Who cares about don’t ask don’t tell while our servicemen die over seas on a quest for oil and power!? I’m all for equal rights but at this point those issues are small in comparison. Who cares about pay discrimination when inflation is on a large rise and the price of everything goes up? Your views on libertarian policy is fear mongering propaganda. The proof is out there that the current Democratic and Republican policies do not work! Ron Paul simply wants the American government to honor the rules of the constitution – which keeps getting trampled by Obama (and previously trampled by Bush AND Clinton). Ron Paul wants to cut departments that have failed us and do not work! Example, the department of education failed a LONG time ago. They spend more and more money every year, pass ridiculous programs that hurt under performing schools. They have all of this extra funding from year to year, but the American education system has seen NO improvement in education. Why do you think charter schools that operate under the same public school budget CONSISTENTLY outperform their public school counterparts with LESS money? Because it’s privatized and catered to the needs of THAT community! As for your health care claim, universal health care will NOT increase the value of our healthcare. Yeah, everyone may be covered, but YOU still pay for it and you will receive lesser quality care! Not to mention, my health care premiums have gone up by 30% since Obama has made his “plans”. Wake Up. I don’t get my views on conspiracy sites like Prison Planet and Alex Jones. I actually research this stuff, which you obviously just spit out anti-libertarian/fear mongering propaganda and rhetoric being pushed by both the Democratic and Republican party. Go back to your make believe land in MSNBC if you aren’t ready to open up your mind to somebody elses views than your own.

  4. I’ve lived in nations with universal healthcare, and I can safely say the quality of care I received was in no way lower than in the United States. What I can tell you is that I did not have to mortgage my house to get an operation. I know this because I actually travel and know that socialized medicine works. I have my experience with it, what is yours? Please, tell us what your experience with socialized medicine is like, because from what I can gather, you have never experienced it before, but I could be wrong.
I just can’t believe a rich white republican who has been in congress for decades will offer anything new. Call me crazy, but looking at his record, an the bills he has voted for, because he hasn’t really passed much of anything or written anything, indicate that he is about as right wing as they come. That, and I don’t trust people who don’t believe in evolution and basic middle school level science. But no, let’s follow Austrian economics to a T, because god only knows we don’t already have powerful corporations.
