Twista Sued For 2004 Death Of Bodyguard
Twista is being prosecuted for the death, in a road accident, of one of his bodyguards. The incident occurred in 2004, when the rapper’s tour bus crashed.
Now, the family of bodyguard, Arthur “Butch” Dixon, are taking up the case against the Illinois rapper.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Dixon’s death, at the age of 45, was the result of multiple blunt force trauma, incurred when the tour bus rolled over as it drove through Pennsylvania. The accident occurred when Twista’s cousin, Otis Bankhead, fell asleep at the wheel, as he drove the rapper and his entourage back to Chicago from a concert in New York.
Dixon was an accomplished jazz pianist, and the son of famed bluesman, Willie Dixon.
The lawsuit that Dixon’s wife and three children are filing against Twista accuses the rapper, and his record label, of not preventing Bankhead from taking the wheel. Bankhead has a track record of traffic violations and was driving with a suspended license when the 2004 accident occurred.
This is not the first time that Dixon’s family has filed a lawsuit. They launched a similar case against Twista in 2006, but lawyers dropped the case at that time.
