Mac Miller is arguably one of the biggest independent artists in the hip-hop game.

As he readies an upcoming tour run with Wiz Khalifa this summer, called “Influence Of Music,” the young rapper appeared on MTV’s new show “Hip Hop POV”, where he talks about his rise in music, among other things.

Since the release of 2011′s Blue Slide Park, Mac has been on the road so much, he’s yet to purchase his own home. So, he admits to living at home with mom.

“I was on the road so much that I figured when I get home, go and see my mom, get a home cooked meal and stack my bread,” Miller said. “Now that I have my bread, I’m moving.”

He also talks about his relationship with Wiz Khalifa, and their rise in hip-hop together. Despite being on the same label, Rostrum Records, Mac says they’re two different artists.

“Wiz is the homie, man. That’s the homie,” he shared. “Early on, from the early days of us in the studio, it was all about me stepping out and doing me. It was about me not trying to take what he’d done and join it and ride it to the top. It was about me creating my own lane. That’s my homie forever but it’s not really a music or business thing. I’ve tried to do as much as I could to do things differently in my way.”
