Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Prediction: Boston in 5

It’s never easy to predict a sweep, and I’m not willing to bet that this Celtics team can keep it all together to rid the 76ers of the playoffs in 4 games. But nonetheless, Rajon Rondo is too sick and Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett look 5 years younger. The 76ers have a good team, but they’re too young, and too inexperienced. Celtics move on to face the ___________ in the Conference Finals.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Clippers

Prediction: Spurs in 4

The Los Angeles Clippers were the feel good story of the first round of the playoffs. They were the only upset of the playoffs so far (not including the 76ers beating the carcass of a team that was the Bulls without Derrick Rose). Their reward for getting through a gritty, 7 game series? A rested, rehealed, dominant Spurs team. No chance the Clippers can get through the injuries they have to even take one game from the monster Spurs. Spurs take this easily, move into the Conference Finals with a massive 8-0 playoff record.

Miami Heat vs. Indiana Pacers

Prediction: Heat in 6

If I had written this article before the first game of the series, I would have put a clean sweep. But after the injury to Chris Bosh, this becomes a much closer series. Sure, Bosh is the smallest of the Big 3 (figuratively) but they will miss him BADLY in Indiana. He’s a good defender, and you need defense to win on the road. The Heat will win this in 6, losing a couple in Pacer country.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Prediction: Thunder in 4

This series is going to feel like a swift elbow to the side of the head (woops). Lakers went 7 and will be facing a rested Thunder team who have had 9 days off. Kevin Durant is a monster, and the Lakers are just old. With the first 4 games coming in a 6 day period, no chance the Lakers do much here. Sorry Kobe, you can’t do it alone buddy. Lakers get their bell rung (World Peace) and the Thunder move on to meet the Spurs in a clash of the titans.
