Nicki Minaj Addresses Murdered Fan Allegations
Nicki Minaj has taken to Twitter to respond to alleged implications that her back-up dancers may have been involved in the murder of a fan.
The Pink Friday tour was blighted by the death of a Minaj fan just hours after the show closed in Tokyo, Japan, on May 25.
A foreign exchange student from Dublin City University in Ireland, Nicola Furlong attended Minaj’s show, and was later found dead in her Tokyo hotel room. IrishCentral.com has reported that there have been two arrests in connection with Furlong’s murder. The men under suspicion are both American. 26 year old James Blackton, and an unnamed 19 year old, are both being held in custody.
Nicki Minaj offered her condolences to Furlong’s family on Twitter, and also used the social media site to address some rumours that had appeared on PerezHilton.com. The site alleged that one of the arrested men was a member of Minaj’s back-up dancer team, but Nicki was quick to deny all possibility of this.
“> @PerezHilton my dancers had nothing to do w/this tragedy. No one in my entourage was questioned or arrested. They all flew home from Japan,” she tweeted.
Minaj added, “@PerezHilton that person on your sight is NOT my dancer. We do NOT know the men in custody. Too much misleading information.”
