Chief Keef’s ‘Finally Rich’ Mixtape To Inclue Yo Gotti, Young Jeezy & Waka Flocka
Pitchfork caught up with Chicago rapper Chief Keef for its “Selector” series. Before choosing which out of a pair of beats to freestyle over, the teenaged Interscope Records signee mentions nabbing appearances from Yo Gotti, Young Jeezy and Waka Flocka for his forthcoming Finally Rich mixtape. No word on when his proper debut will be dropping beyond, “I’ma do an album whenever Interscope tell me to do an album,” though.
Another fellow Chicago rapper isn’t as sold on Keef’s image as Pitchfork. Rhymefest has been vocal about Keef being used as a “bomb” that “represents senseless savagery” seen by others when they look at the violence that is plaguing Chicago.
Watch the rest of Pitchfork’s interview, held at a gun range, including Keef’s quasi-freestyle over Team Elite’s “Stunna Shades” instrumental below. But wait, shouldn’t there have been some discussion of why guns in the hood need to be stopped considering murders in Keef’s native Chicago are up 38%? Just saying.
