Former Hot Boys Member Turk To Be Released From Prison
The rapper, who was once signed to Cash Money Records, is due to leave prison in October, following a seven year spell inside for drugs and firearms possession.
According to sources, the federal prison in Arkansas has given the New Orleans, Louisiana rapper a release date of October 12, 2012.
Turk has been incarcerated for almost seven years, since 2005, when he was convicted of a number of drugs and firearms charges. The convictions stemmed from an incident which occurred in 2004, involving a shooting which took place when police attempted to raid his apartment in Memphis, Tennessee.
Turk was a member of The Hot Boys in the late nineties and early noughties, rapping alongside Cash Money Records affiliates Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and B.G. Between 1998 and 2003, the crew released a total of three albums. Turk also appeared with The Cash Money Millionaires and has been featured on the Baller Blockin soundtrack. Furthermore, Turk had a number of solo releases, notably dropping a 2001 album through the famed Young And Thuggin label. He had a total of four self-released albums, the latest being 2006’s Convicted Felons.
