No artist straddles the worlds of music and basketball quite like Jay-Z, so it makes sense that EA Sports has picked the hip-hop mogul and Brooklyn Nets co-owner to executive produce their forthcoming NBA 2K13 video game.

Hova has posted a teaser video for the game — due out in October — over on his Life + Times website, and in addition to showcasing EA’s hyper-realistic graphics, the short clip features a snippet of the rapper’s Black Album track “Public Service Announcement.”

The game will arrive on shelves bearing the tagline “executive produced by Jay-Z,” and while it’s unclear if he did more than curate the soundtrack, Jigga’s involvement — however miniscule — can only make the project better.

As Jay says, he’s a business, man, and whether he’s hawking batteries or working with Budweiser on planning music festivals, he’s got the sweetest touch since Jordan in game one of the 1992 NBA Finals.
