Drake To Executive Produce New Aaliyah Album

In an exclusive report by HipHopDX, a reliable souce tells them that Drake will reportedly debut his new single at OVO Festival 2012, featuring late R&B singer Aaliyah.

With addition to that, he’s also set to executive produce Aaliyah’s upcoming posthumous album.

Back in early March, producer Jeffrey “J. Dub” Walker prematurely tweeted that an unreleased song titled “Steady Ground” would appear on the project. However Aaliyah’s brother, Rashad Haughton, later went on his own Twitter to refute those claims by saying, “there is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family.”

Drake went on to hint in an interview with Tim Westwood that he had something Aaliyah-related cooking up by stating, “I have some great Aaliyah news coming soon. Just some special things. Just gave you that, just a little. Because I said, I’m with Westwood, so I can’t not. But great things, great things for music, period.”

Drizzy is set to debut the Aaliyah-featured song at the OVO Festival, taking place this Sunday (August 5th) at Toronto, Canada’s Molson Amphitheatre.

#AaliyahBack! Can Drake live up to Aaliyah’s impeccable music legacy and bring us something she would be proud of? Let us know your thoughs, as we’ll keep you updated on this as further details come forth.
