President Obama’s ‘Debt Ceiling’ Hypocrisy
FaceThePolitics.com Reports:
Obama in 2006: “The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. government cannot pay its own bills.”
Obama in 2013: “To even entertain the idea of this happening (not raising the debt ceiling), of the United States of America not paying its bills, is irresponsible. It’s absurd.”
Most Republicans are against raising the debt ceiling under Obama, but most were all for it during the George W. Bush administration.
Most Democrats are for raising the debt ceiling under Obama, but most were all against it during the George W. Bush administration.
Here’s a better idea: Dramatically cut spending. Stop manufacturing a fake crisis and raising the debt ceiling almost every year to finance drunken spending sprees. And while they are at it, members of Congress should pass a budget for the first time in over three years. It’s no wonder that a recent Public Policy Polling survey finds that cockroaches are more popular than Congress.
